Deploy Smart Aquaculture on OpenShift Local
How to get started for free with OpenShift Local and deploying the Smart Aquaculture platform with GitOps.
This is Free!
We are using a vibe coded open-source Smart Aquaculture/Intelligent Fisheries digital twin platform for earth science and ecological forecast literacy outcomes. The project's focus on Dynamic Data Driven Applications Systems of digital twins and AI aligns with the dynamic data sciences needs of earth science data. You can get started for free!
University research inquiries into clubs, training, program collaboration are being considered in 2026. Please email smaq@group.computate.org for more information.
Use cases:
Develop an open source FIWARE data space for ocean, fish population, map, water quality, and ecological forecasting data.
Simulate fishing trips from fishing docks to fish populations, running simulations to calculate the cost of seasonal fishing.
Our goal is to use AI to demonstrate the value of a new aquaculture/fisheries economy based on a digital twin.
Integrate Open Street Map and Overpass APIs with fish populations as a digital twin to simulate the fishing industry, finding ways to optimize the supply chain with AI.
Implement blockchain distributed technology for tracking fish creates traceable value for seafood.
Integrate with IoT devices and university research programs to build modern edge-to-cloud solutions to improve aquaculture and fishery observability and GitOps for resilience against storms.
Things you'll learn:
- How to deploy the Smart Aquaculture platform on OpenShift Local on your own computer.
- Set up Hashicorp Vault secrets for Smart Aquaculture with ExternalSecrets.
- Integrate with a FIWARE context broker for global standards for IoT device data with the Smart Aquaculture platform.
- Integrate with AI Telemetry, Prometheus Keycloak Proxy, and Keycloak Single Sign-On for seamless and secure metrics dashboards per user.
- Run Kubernetes Jobs to configure the database, configure Keycloak Realms and Clients, and configure all the secrets automatically.
- Set up role bindings between service accounts and secrets.
The Deploy Smart Aquaculture on OpenShift Local runs on a Microsoft Windows 11 Professional computer, or Linux x86_64 computer. Supported operating systems and Linux distributions include:
Other Linux distros may also be supported
Unfortunately, MacOS is not supported with OpenShift Local since MacOS became ARM64 architecture.
